Wednesday Sittings are every Wednesday at 6:00pm. This is a good way to begin if you're new to the practice! Arrive early for orientation.

Saturday Sittings are on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month.

The Wednesday night sitting happens every Wednesday night from 6p to 8p. Arrive 20 minutes early for a brief introduction to meditation. The third Wednesday of each month includes a dharma talk in addition to one period of meditation, and discussion.

Tea & Conversation

We are holding tea night, a monthly gathering after the regular Wednesday service on the 4th Monday, for conversation and sharing about our practice. Jan Meserve will be leading this monthly event. Mark your calendar!

Saturday Sittings, Retreats and Family & Kids' Practice Events

Second and fourth Saturday mornings of the month, from 8 am to 10 am at the Center for Inner Peace.

On Saturdays, there are four sitting periods of 25 minutes each, beginning on the half-hour, with walking meditation in between. No chanting or readings, just meditation. Come for all or part of the time, but please enter and exit the zendo during the walking meditations.

During February, March and April, the winter precepts class is on the second and fourth Saturdays, held from 10:30 - 12:30 pm, just after the Saturday morning meditation concludes.

During 2012, the Wet Mountain Sangha will be jointly planning a number of events with our sister sangha to the north, Springs Mountain Sangha. The schedule of events for 2012 includes the following:

Saturday, February 4 10:00 a.m. --- 1:00 p.m. in Pueblo: Work in the Room with Sarah Bender at the Center for Inner Peace.

Friday, February 17 at 5:30-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 18/ All Day Meditation at Sarah Bender's Home. People are invited to stay over at Sarah's or at other SMS homes in Colorado Springs.

Saturday, March 3 All Day Retreat at the Center for Inner Peace in Pueblo with Sarah Bender or Andrew Palmer.

Saturday and Sunday, April 9-15 Spring Refuge Retreat, Canon City Abbey

Saturday, May 12 8:30-11:30 Work in the Room with Andrew Palmer

Friday- Sunday, May 18-20 Commuter Retreat in Colorado Springs with Joan Sutherland

Saturday, June 9 All Day Meditation Retreat in Pueblo: Center for Inner Peace, with Sarah Bender or Andrew Palmer

Friday, September 28-Sunday September 30/ Fall Meditation Retreat in Colorado Springs at the CC Women's Club.

Dharma Study and Introduction to Zen

Dharma Study Group. An ongoing dharma study group is meeting usually on the third Sunday of each month from 10:00 am- 12:00 noon, usually at Monika Stanelle's house. Beginning Sunday, February 19, the group will be reading John Tarrant's Bring Me the Rhinoseros. We will begin with the koan Bring Me the Rhinoceros. Roger Dorcy Cancer Center Healing Arts Center Programs

The sangha is enthusiastically encouraging everyone to join in participation and leadership of the Dorcy Center Monday sittings. This dynamic group brings meditation practice to the real issues of everyday living! Contact Doug Mesner if you'd like to participate or lead a session.

Mindfulness Meditation at the Roger Dorcy Cancer Center, St. Mary Corwin Regional Medical Center: The sangha is facilitating a program of meditation instruction and sittings for cancer survivors, their family and friends, and others in the Pueblo community with chronic pain or illness. Sittings are held Monday evenings from 5:30 - 6:45 pm. Each week a brief talk on some aspect of meditation and coping with chronic illness and pain will be presented and discussed.
